Why Abhyangam ?
Human body is characterized by 3 basic doshas namely ‘Vata’, ‘Pitta’and ‘Kapha’. The basic tenet of Ayurveda is that their careful balance is essential to good health. Vata is the dosha that influences other doshas in the body. The imbalance in Vata is due to constant exposure to pollutants such as dust and chemicals as also due to bad living habits. This leads to problems such as insomnia (disturbed sleep), body aches, stress, dry skin, brittle and lusterless hair, wrinkling of skin, creaking joints, general debility. One of the easiest ways to bring ‘Vata’ under control is by regular ‘Abhyangam’ or oil massage. Hence, just like the life and strength of an earthen pot or a wheel is increased
